Important Information

The via ferrata is regularly inspected for technical safety. However, conditions on the via ferrata and the approach are weather-dependent, and additional equipment (e.g., crampons) may be necessary in addition to the standard via ferrata gear.

Tour description

This via ferrata is one of the younger ones in the via ferrata garden and, at 420 metres, offers a considerable length. The start is the same as the Franz via ferrata, but then continues to the right to the exit just below the Stoderzinken summit. This via ferrata is dedicated to the writer Peter Rosegger, who explored Gröbming's local mountain at the beginning of the 20th century and recorded his memories in writing. The Peter Rosegger Monument was erected on the Stoderzinken in his honour.

Note: The practice via ferratas Karl, Julius, Emil and David can be easily combined with the Franz or Peter via ferrata in the form of a warm-up via ferrata.

From the shuttle bus stop at the Rossfeld parking lot, walk past the Rosemi Alm to connect with trail #675 and follow it up to the Stoderhütte. From there, continue on trail #676 to the Friedenskircherl (Peace Chapel). The start of the via ferrata is located about 30 meters past the Friedenskircherl, at the signpost on the right.

From the top of the via ferrata, continue briefly uphill to the marked hiking trail #676 to the Stoderzinken. Follow the hiking trail back to the starting point, or hike to the summit of the Stoderzinken in about 15 minutes and then return to the starting point.

From the B 320, turn off toward Gröbming town center and follow the signs toward Stoderzinken. The Stoderzinken Alpine Road (toll road) continues for 9 km uphill to the Rossfeld parking lot near the Rosemi Alm.The following parking options are available:
