The tour

The bear-strong classic! At the beginning to warm up on the prepared path up to the Vordere and further to the Hintere Mörsbachalm and then - yay - off into the open terrain. Over alpine soils and slopes up to summit happiness & panoramic view.

Turn-by-turn directions

The ski tour starts at the parking lot in the village center and follows the prepared forest road to the managed Vorderen Mörsbachalm. From there, then crossing the stream and slightly ascending further to the Hintere Mörsbachalm at 1482m. The now following steeper ascent, called "Guglhupf" by the locals, brings you into a wide cirque, which you do not follow completely. You turn to the east before and climb steeply on a pronounced ridge. Here it can be dangerous for avalanches. From this ridge you climb slightly to the summit of the Großen Bärneck (2071 m) with the beautiful summit cross. A magnificent panorama of the surrounding mountains opens up here.

For the descent you turn after the summit cross a short distance to the west and ski, but only in safe conditions, steeply down into the cirque and then follow the ascent track. If conditions are not safe, you can ski back down from the summit along the ascent track.
