Öblarner Copper Path
Öblarn
The Öblarn Mining Association has been operating the "Öblarner Kupferweg" since June 2000. Due to the weather and climate, most sections of the historical mining trail in the Walchental are only accessible from June to September. For an overall tour on the Kupferweg, at least three hours, but preferably five hours, must be taken into account. The "Öblarner Kupferweg" is ideal for group excursions - it is practically a day programme!
You can also walk the trail on your own, but you will not be able to visit all the points to their full extent. A brochure published by the Öblarn Mining Association is available in Öblarn restaurants and tobacconists for "solo tours". Information boards with numbers and location designations accompany you all the way. In the brochure you will find a brief description of the property under the number given.
Duration of the tour: approx. 3 -5 hours
Registration: Please register by 5 p.m. at the latest on the day before the desired date!

Stone cellar
Since 1997, Günther Demski's geological/mineralogical show has been on display in the vaulted cellar of the Verweserhaus or Herrschaftsamt, built in 1565. A good part of the exhibition is dedicated to the Walchental. The mining, which was important for Öblarn at that time, is presented there historically and geologically. The collection also focuses on Öblarn marble and minerals.
Duration: 45 - 60 minutes
