The "Kleine Mitterstein" tour is the perfect way to start the ski touring season in the fall. From the Dachstein mountain station, the two-kilometre-long, groomed circuit leads past the Ramsau cross-country ski trail and offers impressive views before ending back at the Dachstein mountain station.
Routebeschrijving
The "Kleine Mitterstein" tour is a two-kilometre-long, groomed and well-marked piste tour starting at the Dachstein mountain station. It first leads downhill to the old mountain station of the Mitterstein chairlift, where the touring skis are put on. Surrounded by high alpine scenery, the route follows the Ramsau cross-country ski trail with views of the Rosmarie gallery back to the Dachstein mountain station, where the tour ends. The tour is suitable for both beginners and experienced ski tourers.

Arrival by car

From the west: Tauern Autobahn (A10) to Knoten Ennstal - turnoff direction Graz/Schladming - stay on the Ennstal-Bundesstraße (B320) for approx. 20 km until Schladming - take the turnoff for Ramsau - via the Dachsteinstraße to the Dachstein Gondola Bottom Station

From the north: Pyhrn Autobahn (A 9)  direction Liezen - take the Ennstal-Bundesstraße (B320)  to Schladming - turnoff Ramsau - via the Dachsteinstraße to the Dachstein Gondola Bottom Station

Take line 960 to the Dachstein Türlwandhütte stop.

Even though there are parking spaces at the Dachstein Gondola Bottom Station, it is recommended that you take the public bus from Schladming or Ramsau to use the gondola.

  • Don't go on a ski tour alone. It's more fun together anyway!
  • Always behave in a risk-aware manner and react to danger signs!
  • Observe existing regulations, e.g. hunting and wildlife protection areas, reforestation or young growth areas.
  • You should always have a fully charged mobile phone with you. Have you also saved the emergency numbers? Mountain rescue: 140. If you have no signal, take out the SIM card and dial 112.
  • Avalanche beacon, probe and shovel are essential in open terrain.
  • Ski touring equipment consisting of skis/splitboard, skins, poles and possibly crampons. 
  • Food, warm drinks, spare clothing and a first aid kit.
  • Choose your clothing according to the onion layer principle.
  • Maps and/or tour descriptions. GPX tracks on your mobile phone or GPS device are also helpful.
