The Austriahütte is a hut of the Austria section of the ÖAV. It is beautifully situated at 1638 m at the foot of the Dachstein. The hut was built in 1880 and is thus the oldest existing alpine hut of the Dachstein and it houses the highest situated museum in Styria.
Opening hours summer 2019:
From the beginning of July to the beginning of winter (from 13 October only open Friday to Sunday).
Only cash payment is possible at the hut.

Dachstein Museum
Inside the Austriahütte - at 1.638 m above sea level - you will find the highest situated museum of the Austrian Alpine Association in Styria.
The Dachstein museum first opened in 1989 and was the first of its kind. There you will find a detailed relief of the Dachstein massif.
