Michael Tritscher Run
średnio trudne Running · Schladming
The Michael Tritscher Run is among the longest running routes in Rohrmoos and is almost the same as the hike called Miners' Tour. Most part of the tour takes you across meadow and gravel trail surfaces, about one fifth is paved road.
The route is named after Alpine skier Michael Tritscher of Rohrmoos, who won 3 races in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and finished second in the 1995 Slalom World Cup. The greatest success of his career is the bronze medal at the 1992 Olympic World Winter Games in Albertville.
From the starting point you run downhill along Rohrmoosstraße road for about 100 m and then make a right, following the way across Schußbühel hill and the meadows of Rohrmooser Frei towards Obertal valley. Via the Sonnleitner, Holzbacher and Finsterl farms you reach the Ahornweg road and follow it to the Windbacherstube. Along the creek you continue along the meadow trail.
After a short passage along the road you turn off onto a meadow trail at Bärnhofer farm again and follow the signs along the creek until you reach the Nickel museum at the valley head. Once around the museum and back until just after the signposted forest road fork. Shortly afterwards, turn right on the hiking trail down to Obertalstrasse and follow it into the valley to the beginning of the gravel road. Left along the path to the Hirsch forestry administration. Keep left at the chapel and head out of the valley to the Wehrhofalm. Here you cross the bridge and run the known route back to the starting point.

The surface along Michael Tritscher run is generally easy and without technical difficulty. Some sections though are meadow trails and covered with grass - therefore they can be uneven. Therefore, runners should be well-trained and have sufficient stamine for this run. To prevent dehydration we recommend frequent drink breaks - either we advise you to bring along a drink or to use nearby Obertalbach creek (possessing drinking water quality) for refreshment.
Trail running shoes are recommended.
