Klafferkettle
The Königstour Klafferkessel is a must for those in good physical condition. The hike leads across a lake plateau with 30 lakes at 2,300 meters above sea level and is also a stage of the Schladminger-Tauern-Höhenweg long-distance hiking trail.
The further you drive into the Kleinsölktal, the more impressive the steep wooded slopes rise to the peaks. At the Schwarzensee, where three sides are surrounded by dark forests, there are some huge, old sycamore trees on the shore and charming reflections appear in the clearings. Here you will find waterfalls that fall like veils over the rock faces and a water show trail.
The Breitlahnhütte in the Kleinsölktal is the starting point of this hike, which leads over a wide alpine path almost flat along the Kleinsölk stream to the Schwarzensee.
When you see the small lake for the first time, you know that the strenuous climb was worth it. With its deep blue-turquoise color you inevitably get a Caribbean feeling.
Please do not swim in the lake! Otherwise, clear dark discolouration occurs on the lake bed due to turbulence. Thanks to your reason, the uniqueness and beauty is preserved for everyone.
The Spiegelsee on the Reiteralm is one of the most photographed lakes in the Schladming-Dachstein region. This can be reached via a short, narrow hiking trail. On windless days you will be rewarded with a unique panorama, as the Dachstein south walls are reflected on the water of the lake.
Tip: When the alpine roses are in bloom (June/July), the Spiegelsee is embedded in a sea of blossoms.
