The Hochwurzen gipfelbahn is in operation from 19:00 to 21:30 and the piste and toboggan run are illuminated from 19:00 to 23:00.
Active day and night on the Hochwurzen
Skiers, tobogganers and winter hikers - everyone loves the Hochwurzen. Wide, long runs make the heart of the connoisseur beat faster - by day and by night. The seven-kilometre-long toboggan run offers full pleasure on two runners. The Funslope provides a lot of variety on the slopes and is suitable for all age groups and all levels of ability. For those who haven't had enough time on the slopes during the day, night skiing offers a very special ambience. On the freshly groomed slopes in the glow of the floodlights, it is a very special feeling to make your turns in the snow.

Hochwurzen at Night
On the Hochwurzen in Schladming the night is turned into day. No matter whether skiing, tobogganing, a ski tour or fatbiking at night. The Hochwurzen offers a varied night programme for everyone!

Our lifts and cableways are also often swapped for climbing skins:
The result is a natural experience of an entirely unique kind as you embark on your own path through undisturbed snow. Ski tours and hiking the pistes also provides even greater enjoyment of our mountains.
This is why there is a separate ascent track on the Hochwurzen, which leads partly from piste and forest sections to the mountain station of the Hochwurzen summit lift or to the summit of the small Hochwurzen.
Winter Hiking
4-season trail
Wide, groomed winter walking trail through the forest to the summit of Hochwurzen (1,852 m). You can either walk uphill to the mountain terminal of the Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen cable-car or take the cable-car and walk downhill.

Skidepot
At Planai West we take care of the safekeeping of your ski equipment. The ski depots are equipped with boot heating, as well as a helmet and glove storage. The ski depots at Planai West are booked directly onto your day, week or season ticket.
Further advantages when using the ski depot at Planai West:
- Comfortable start into the skiing day - the skiing equipment is already in the skiing area and does not have to be transported from the hotel/pension/holiday house/home to the skiing area.
- Comfort - Pleasant, comfortable putting on and taking off of the ski boots thanks to seating in the ski depot.
- Lots of space - skis, poles, ski boots or even helmets can easily be stored in the ski cabinet.
- Drying your ski boots - thanks to the eco-dry system from STEURER SYSTEMS you will enjoy pre-warmed ski boots in the morning.
- Stress-free arrival - no cumbersome stowing of ski equipment in the car - no pollution (dirt/wet) in the car

WARNING: Use outside of piste opening times is potentially fatal (piste equipment, cable winches, etc.) and is liable to legal prosecution!
Piste regulations with the current piste opening times have been prepared together with the cabin hosts on the Planai and Hochwurzen. Any violations will incur corresponding compensation and/or may lead to further legal action.
An external safety organization is responsible for compliance with the piste regulations on the Planai and Hochwurzen.
