As soon as nature goes into hibernation, silence returns to the Sölktäler and the perfect time for winter hikes has come. Enjoy the snow-covered winter forest, the deep blue sky, the sparkling ice crystals on the streams and the crunching of the snow during a walk to the Bräualm.
Behaviour in nature
The nature reserve Sölktäler is the habitat of numerous sensitive and endangered plant and animal species. We ask you to behave accordingly and to stay on the marked paths!
Enjoy the snow-covered winter forest, the deep blue sky, the sparkling ice crystals on the streams and the crunching of the snow on a walk to the Bräualm. If you don't want to hike back the same way, take the forest path from the Bräualm huts no. 702. You can warm up with hot tea in the warm parlor of the “Zum Gamsjäger” inn.
- Winter mountain boots or sturdy shoes with a good profile and possibly gaiters.
- Clothing appropriate to the weather forecast.
- Backpack with small provisions.
With the Schladming-Dachstein Winter Walking Ticket you can use several cable-cars and chair-lifts to get to the trail heads of some of the most beautiful winter hikes.
