We’ll be kicking off the 2026/27 winter season on 6 November 2026 with a cross-country ski trail in the Ramsau am Dachstein stadium area.

In addition to the nordic center of Ramsau am Dachstein, the Styrian region offers a variety of idyllic valley cross-country ski trails, where pleasure skiers in particular get their money's worth.

From 15 to 17 January 2027, the Ramsau Plateau will once again be transformed into a paradise for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. On the 40-kilometre panoramic route through the snow-covered winter landscape, the motto is: ‘Pure enjoyment in a single run.’ Those who prefer to take it at a more leisurely pace can opt for the 10-kilometre route – which can also be completed as a team.

Alongside the team competition, the leisurely cross-country run with culinary stops and a varied programme of events – ranging from kids races to an evening at a mountain hut – ensure unforgettable experiences. The Dachstein Run embodies the living tradition of cross-country skiing in Ramsau am Dachstein and delights professionals, enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Biathlon for guests

Biathlon is fascinating. Not just on TV, when the world's best do their laps and try to turn the black targets white while standing or lying down. You can also try it yourself. There are several opportunities in the region to get closer to the fascination of biathlon. The offers range from laser rifles, air pressure rifles and small caliber rifles with which you can test your marksmanship in the biathlon stadium. The trainers teach the correct breathing and shooting techniques to find the optimum pulse and rhythm for shooting after the dynamic cross-country skiing sessions. Instruction in shooting technique and equipment is provided by experienced trainers from the cross-country skiing schools. Cross-country skiing

At the Ramsau am Dachstein cross-country skiing center, you can expect over 100 km of classic cross-country trails and over 70 km of skating trails – perfectly groomed for all skill levels – when snow conditions are good. Even when natural snowfall is limited, the snowmaking system provides a great basic selection of trails, with a focus on maintaining a wide track.

The largest network of valley trails in the Schladming-Dachstein region can be found in the Untertal valley with approximately 20 km and in the Donnersbachtal valley with approximately 15 km. This ensures variety and scenic diversity.

The cross-country skiing season on the Ramsau Plateau begins on November 6, 2026, and lasts until the peak summer season in March, sometimes even into April.

On the Dachstein Glacier, the season is sometimes even longer.

Yes, at the Dachstein Glacier you'll find up to 15 km of cross-country ski trails at an altitude of 2,570 to 2,700 m.

The trails are a real highlight for ambitious amateur cross-country skiers, and international teams with their World Cup stars train here regularly.

Of course! Many cross-country ski trails in Ramsau am Dachstein, such as the Stadionloipe, the Standardloipe, and the Märchenwiese Cross-Country trail, are ideal for beginners and families. The Kristallloipe trail in the Untertal valley is also mostly flat and easy.
For more athletic cross-country skiers, the Kulm Trail or the Kulmberg Forest Trail are excellent choices. Those with serious competitive ambitions will find the right challenge on the World Cup Trail.

  • "Heimat/Ennstalerhof": Connection to the Kulmdörfl trail near Hotel Annelies, with links to the Stadium Trail, Standard Trail East, Kulm Trail, and Leiten Trail
  • "Kulm" near the Ramsau Tourist Information Office: Connection at the Alpenbad junction, with links to the Stadium Trail, Standard Trail East, Kulm Trail, and Leiten Trail
  • "Ramsau-Ort": Stadium, Stadium Trail, Lärchenwald Trail
